Every claim on this site points at something you can check: a repo, a live system, a site, or a demo running in this page.
Public repo · CIPyDB CI status

My database survives being killed mid-write

PyDB's test suite SIGKILLs a writer mid-workload and checks that no committed row is lost. CI runs it on every push.

Live in production

A guard team uses my dashboard every night

AI-CCTV alerts for Max Estates, Dehradun: 8 cameras on one screen, patrol compliance, installed on site by me and live since Sep 2026.

Live client sites

Client websites you can open right now

A disability-support provider in Victoria built around accessibility, and a bilingual lead-generation site for a Bangkok agency.

Runs in your browser

Systems you can poke, not just read about

A B+Tree with a pager and write-ahead log, a consistent-hash ring, and a rate limiter on a live edge route that returns real 429s.

Writing

Ten write-ups of real problems

What broke, why, and what fixed it, from a database that lost every committed write to row-level security that quietly switches itself off.

Client systems in production, a platform built to outlive its first customer, and the self-directed projects where I learn what I rely on.

AI-CCTV security dashboard

An AI camera box across eight cameras was detecting intrusions, falls, animals and unattended posts, but nothing turned those detections into something a guard could act on at 3 am, or told management whether the patrol route was being walked.

Experience

2.5+ years building backends that have to be right: data pipelines at Genpact, a healthcare platform at Docplix, and contract work with audit trails, live migrations and exactly-once processing. Download the résumé →

    Backend / Full-Stack Engineer

    Independent — contract work
    Freelance

Contract work for businesses in India and abroad: a document-workflow platform for a shipping-software company, a live AI-CCTV dashboard for a gated community, and client websites.

    • Built a multi-tenant document-workflow platform (FastAPI, PostgreSQL row-level security, Celery): layered document classification, customer-editable YAML validation rules, maker-checker review, immutable versions and a per-check audit trail, with 400+ automated tests.
    • Designed it as a platform rather than a one-off: a second industry pack (procure-to-pay, with 3-way matching) ran on the same engine with zero engine changes.
    • Shipped a Node.js dashboard that ingests events from an on-prem AI vision box over HTTP callbacks, runs patrol and absent-from-post timers, and produces Excel/PDF reports — installed on site and in production since Sep 2026.

    Software Engineer

    Docplix
    Healthcare

Backend for an EHR platform used by 2,300+ clinics, as one of four engineers.

    • Built and led 30+ Node.js/Sequelize REST APIs and ran a zero-downtime v1→v2 migration with 100% data integrity.
    • Designed optimistic concurrency control and distributed Redis locks for the central sync service, eliminating the race conditions behind concurrent-write data mismatches.
    • Replaced legacy polling with push notifications (WebSockets + Redis Pub/Sub), cutting backend traffic by 80%.

    Software Engineer (promoted from Intern)

    Genpact
    Data Engineering

Joined as an intern and was promoted to software engineer, working on serverless data pipelines for tax computation software.

    • Engineered idempotent, exactly-once processing for a Kafka tax-ingestion pipeline using database constraints, guaranteeing correctness across partitions during network failures.
    • Built resilient Python (Flask) microservices with automated retries and dead-letter queues, serving 24 modules with zero data loss.
    • Integrated structured logging and distributed tracing across serverless GCP Cloud Functions, cutting MTTR for critical production bugs by 40%.

Freelance & contract work

I build the software a business runs on, from dashboards and integrations to websites, and I build it to keep working after I hand it over. Based in India; on site in Uttarakhand and Delhi NCR, remote for teams anywhere.

Custom software & dashboards

Internal tools, ERPs and document workflows shaped around how your team actually works.

CCTV, IoT & hardware integration

Camera boxes, gate readers and QR passes brought onto one screen your staff can use.

Backend performance & reliability

Audit first, then fix in order of payoff: N+1 queries, slow pages, tenant isolation, deploys.

AI with a human in the loop

Documents into data, answers from your own records. The AI reads, code checks, a person confirms.

  1. 01
    Call or site visit

What are you actually trying to fix? No charge.

  2. 02
    Written plan

Scope, stages, timeline and risks in writing before work starts.

  3. 03
    Build in stages

Working software every week, not a reveal at the end.

  4. 04
    Install & train

On your premises or your cloud; training in Hindi or English.

  5. 05
    Support

Remote support after go-live, and a retainer if you want one.

What you can count on
  • A written plan with scope, stages and dates before you pay anything
  • You pay stage by stage, after you've seen each stage working
  • You own the code, the data and every account, in your name
  • Tests and plain-language notes at every stage, so nobody is locked in
  • Support after go-live, and a straight answer if software isn't the fix

Questions clients ask first

What will it cost?+

It depends on scope, so I don't publish a rate card. After a free call you get a fixed quote in writing, split into stages, and you pay stage by stage, so you never pay for work you haven't seen working.

How long does it take?+

The written plan gives a date for every stage. As an example, a visitor-pass app with a multi-level approval chain was planned at 10–15 working days. If your deadline isn't realistic I'll say so on the first call, not in week three.

What if you disappear halfway?+

You own the code, the data and the accounts from day one, in your name. Every stage ships with tests and plain-language notes, so any competent developer could pick it up.

Who looks after it once it's live?+

I do, remotely, or on a monthly retainer if you want changes and monitoring. Or a clean handover to your own team, with documentation and tests that fail when the important logic breaks.

Can you come on site, and train my staff in Hindi?+

Yes. I visit sites across Uttarakhand and Delhi NCR and work remotely everywhere else. Training is in Hindi or English, and I built a dashboard so a guard could use it at 3 am without help.

Will you keep our business private?+

Yes. I sign an NDA if you want one, and I describe client work by sector, not name, unless you agree to be named.

Send me the problem, not the spec.

Tell me what's slow, manual or breaking. I reply within 24 hours and say honestly whether software fixes it. Not ready to talk? 12 questions to ask before you hire any developer, including me →
